LYNCHBURG MAN REPORTED DEAD IN CAIRO HOTEL FIRE

A Lynchburg businessman was among the 17 people who died in a hotel fire in Cairo, Egypt, a newspaper reported Friday.

Arnaldo "Arnie" Martinez, 46, the father of five children, died in the Wednesday night blaze, the News & Daily Advance said in a copyrighted story.

Mark Hannah, 36, also of Lynchburg, was pulled to safety through a second-story window, the newspaper reported.

The two Ericsson GE Mobile Communications employees had been working on a potential sales deal with the Egyptian government, a GE spokesman said.
