WYTHE MAN SUBJECT OF CRIME SHOW

Frank Van Dyke Hobbs, a man wanted in Wythe County on bigamy and other charges who has escaped authorities in several states in recent years, is scheduled to be a subject on the Fox Network's "America's Most Wanted" television program April 15.

Hobbs, 53, failed to appear at a bigamy trial here in 1984 and has been a fugitive since that time. He is also charged in Wythe County with insurance fraud and grand larceny.

Wythe County Sheriff Wayne Pike said the TV show will be filmed mostly in Chattanooga, Tenn., where Hobbs was being held when a judge allowed him to go free on bond. Pike will fly there during March to be a part of the filming.

Hobbs failed to appear in December for a hearing on his extradition to Virginia. He had been captured in other states earlier, but escaped each time.
