Aubrey Lewis Smith (Onionhead), age 61, of Roanoke, died Saturday, March 3, 1990. Mr. Smith was a previous truck driver for Russell Transfer and was currently with Great Coastal. He was a member of Teamsters Local 171; a veteran of the Korean War; and a member of the V.F.W. He is survived by his wife, Veltie Inez Smith, Roanoke; mother, Madeline Smith White, Moneta; one son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Peggy Freeman, Salem; one daughter, Sandra Freeman, Providence, R.I.; three brothers, Sidney Smith, Mississippi; Steve Smith, West Virginia; Arthur White, Tennessee; two sisters, Ester Ellis, Moneta; Harriott Spangler, Roanoke; five grandchildren, Tammy Freeman and Ricky Freeman, both of Salem; Shannon Sarracino, Sherri Sarracino, and Ronnette Porrecca, all of Providence, R.I.; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 6, 1990, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel, followed by services at 2:00 p.m. at the White Rock Church of the Brethren in Alum Ridge, Va. Interment will be in the White Rock Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel after 1:00 p.m. Sunday.
