Ulice Buford Sweeney, age 85, of Salem, died Friday in a Salem nursing home. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena J. Sweeney; two brothers, Charlie J. Sweeney, Florida; George E. Sweeney, Roanoke; four sisters, Mrs. Gillous P. Gee, Charlottesville; Mrs. Lula S. Grimes, Mrs. Clara S. Gray, Mrs. Mary S. McMillan, all of Roanoke; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 5, at 3:00 p.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel with Dr. H.R. Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at Lotz Salem Chapel.
