ELLEN GOODMAN TO LECTURE

Syndicated columnist Ellen Goodman will lecture at Roanoke College March 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Bast Center. Complimentary tickets are required and can be reserved by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the Olin Box Office, Roanoke College, Salem, Va. 24153.

Goodman's lecture is entitled "Women in Politics: Today's Challenges and Tomorrow's Opportunities." Her lecture is the keynote address for the Southeastern Women's Studies Association Annual Conference hosted by the college.

In 1980, Goodman received the Pulitzer Prize for Distinguished Commentary. She has been with the Boston Globe since 1967. Her column now appears in more than 400 newspapers, including the Roanoke Times & World-News.

Goodman wrote a book on social changes, "Turning Points," in 1979. Three collections of her columns also have been published.
