PEMBROKE - Charles Winfred Williams, age 71, died Wednesday morning in a Blacksburg hospital. A native of Giles County, he is the son of the late Brackett Birchfield and Nora Ethel Williams. He was a member of the Mount Lebanon United Methodist Church, Hoges Chapel, Va. Surviving are his wife, Mildred (Mickey) Brown Williams; one son, Winfred B. (Wimpy) Williams, Pembroke; one daughter, Jeanie W. Johnston, Catawba; one brother, E. Haven Williams, Hoges Chapel; three grandchildren, Greg and Lisa Johnston, Catawba; Kim Bolden, Fort Hood, Texas; one great-grandchild, Jerrel Bolden, Fort Hood, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Mount Lebanon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Raymond S. Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Williams-Jamison-Kendall Funeral Home, Thursday evening from 6:00 to 9:00.
