Margaret Sonner Vest Hodge, age 53, of Pulaski and formerly of Check, died Wednesday in a Roanoke hospital. She was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church; also V.F.W. Post 1184 Auxiliary, Pulaski; and the D.A.V. Post No. 3 Auxiliary, Roanoke. Surviving are her husband, Richard D. Hodge, Pulaski; three sons, Michael E. Vest, Winston-Salem, N.C.; Robert J. Vest, Check; William P. Higgins, Jewett City, Conn.; four sisters, Madeline Johnson and Louie Lane, both of Pulaski; Stella Alley, Michigan; Dorothy L. Hall, West Virginia; three brothers, James Sonner, W. Harding Sonner, both of North Carolina; Marvin L. Sonner, Pulaski. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Route 3, Wytheville (Piney) with the Rev. Robert Blackwell and Mr. Michael E. Vest officiating. Interment will be in the Huffville Church Cemetery, Pilot. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home. The body will be moved to the church one hour prior to the service.
