The Rev. David Wolfe, coordinator of pastoral care at the hospital, said the room is enhanced by a stained-glass window designed by Donna Layne and bearing an inscription from the 121st Psalm.
The chapel offers a sweeping southwestern view of the mountains, Wolfe noted. It will be a place for meditation and easily reached by clergy who work at the hospital, volunteering counsel to sick people and their families.
Joining Wolfe in the dedication will be Karl Miller, administrator, as well as Layne and several clergy representatives of various faiths.
Wolfe said that opening the chapel is a major accomplishment in the new program of spiritual care that Lewis-Gale began about three years ago. He joined the staff in 1988.
