HOMELESSNESS IS TOPIC OF JUNIOR LEAGUE SLIDES

B The Junior League of Roanoke Valley has compiled a slide presentation to increase awareness of homelessness in the Roanoke Valley.

The slide presentation, titled "Directing Women to a New Beginning," is an outgrowth of the Junior League's Project Independence, a program that helps women at risk of becoming homeless with their entry into the work force while assisting them with problems they may face. The project helps the women obtain financial assistance, support services, child care and housing.

The presentation is available free of charge to civic and church groups. Junior League volunteers will present the slide show and answer questions. Arrangements may be made by calling the Junior League office at 774-3242.
