ACTION GROUP SEEKING COMMENT ON PROJECTS

New River Community Action plans meetings to seek comment on its projects. This is part of the annual planning and review process that enables the agency to receive new state funds under the Community Services Block Grant.

The group is particularly interested in responses from civic organizations, churches, local government and groups concerned with needs of low-income citizens.

New River Community Action is a private non-profit organization established in 1965 and governed by a board of directors. It offers programs in nutrition, education, housing, senior services to help low-income people obtain self-sufficiency and improved quality of life.

The meetings are set for noon Tuesday at the New River Community Action office in Giles and at 5 p.m. March 21 at the New River Community Action main office in Christiansburg.
