DOCTOR'S AIDS PAYMENT DISCLOSED; $1.35 MILLION

The judge in Dr. Veronica Prego's case reversed himself Friday and disclosed that the AIDS-stricken doctor will be paid $1.35 million for settling her lawsuit.

The judge said in answer to questions in the courtroom when he unsealed the record, "She didn't want people to think that the value of the case was that little." - The New York Times
