OBIT HAVNAER, R.

Ruby Holmes Havnaer, age 84, of Salem, died Saturday at her home. She was the widow of Charles H. Haevner, Sr. She was a member of Greene Memorial United Methodist Church, a life member of the United Methodist Women, and also a life member of the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs. Surviving are stepson, Charles H. Haevner, Jr., of Roanoke; stepdaughter, Kathryn H. Risinger, Daytona Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Greene Memorial United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday at Sherwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Walter M. Lockett, Jr., officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's, Roanoke.
