"I think he was disgusted," said the 32-year-old victim.
The thief came into the house through an unlocked carport door early Friday and jumped on the victim, who was in bed. There was a brief struggle in which the victim was hit several times on the head with the butt of the knife.
The victim said the robber ransacked his room, scooping up a watch, rings, $3 in change and $5 from his wallet.
"This house is not worth robbing," the thief suddenly said, giving back the money. But he kept six rings and a watch valued at $61, according to a police report.
