USA CABLE, WORLD LEAGUE HOOK UP

The World League of American Football and the USA cable network have agreed on a four-year contract for Saturday night and Monday night games starting in 1991.

The contract also calls for a playoff game in 1991 and a playoff game and the league championship game 1992. The 1991 league championship already has been sold to ABC.

The league, owned by the NFL, will begin in the spring of 1991 with 12 teams, six in the United States and one each in England, West Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada and Mexico.

Earlier this year, the league announced a two-year, $28 million deal with ABC for Sunday afternoon games.
