VOCATIONAL WEEK PROCLAMATION SIGNED

Roger Hedgepeth, mayor of Blacksburg, signed a proclamation for Vocational Education Week on Feb. 14. The proclamation was sponsored by the Blacksburg High School chapter of Vocational Industrial Clubs of America.

Members also spoke to two area groups as part of their celebration of the event. Christy Dickerson, secretary of the club, represented VICA at a speaking engagement at Virginia Tech. Dickerson spoke about trade and industry in the working world. Members Melinda Lawson and Amy Dix visited Margaret Beeks Elementary School and spoke to pupils about hair hygiene.
