JUDD WON'T CHALLENGE OLIN FOR HOUSE SEAT

Republican Charles Judd, who lost to Rep. Jim Olin by 28 percentage points in 1988, said Tuesday he would not try again this year.

At a Roanoke news conference, Judd, a former executive director of the Moral Majority in Lynchburg, cited a lack of energy and commitment from voters in deciding not to challenge Olin, who has served the 6th Congressional District since 1982.
