CORRECTIONS AGENCY TO SET TEEN'S SENTENCE

A 14-year-old special education student who was found guilty of threatening a school instructor with a gun has been turned over to the Department of Corrections, which will determine the length of his sentence.

Family Court Judge Dale Harris also recommended Monday that the Dunbar Middle School student, who was not identified because of his age, be placed in a residential treatment center after his release.

The juvenile was found guilty Feb. 12 of carrying a concealed weapon, brandishing a firearm, carrying a weapon on school grounds and trespassing.
