Unbeaten regular-season and tournament champion Franklin County and once-beaten Hidden Valley each had four individual champions in Roanoke Valley junior-high wrestling.

Franklin, coached by Mike Greer, had champions in Daren Wray (6-1 at 84 pounds), Thomas Simmons (7-1 at 142), Derrick Poindexter (7-1 at 150) and Ricky Young (8-0 at heavyweight).

The Hidden Valley winners were John Richardson (4-0 at 98), Ronde Barber (4-1 at 126), Tiki Barber (3-0 at 134) and Ashley Valentine (3-1 at 160).

Northside and Cave Spring each had three winners while William Byrd had one.

Champions from Northside are Clifton Dunford Henderson (4-0 at 77), Brian Miller (4-1-1 at 112) and Robin Keeling (6-0 at 122). Cave Spring had winners in Jason Peoples (4-1 at 105), Mike Zirkle (5-0 at 119) and Kenny Newton (5-0 at 170).

The lone Byrd champion is Patrick Henderson (8-0 at 91).

The Barber twins also were all-stars in football, as were Valentine and Newton.

Wray and Richardson are eighth-graders and Dunford and Henderson are seventh-graders. The other 11 winners are in the ninth grade.

Peoples was the champion at 84 pounds last year while Valentine was the winner at 142.
