JOSEPH A. AISTRUP of Blacksburg will receive his doctor's degree in philosophy from Indiana University in May.

\ KENDALL LOTT of Christiansburg is a program presenter at The American Association for Counseling and Development's 1990 convention March 16-19, in Ohio. He is the director of the Radford University Counseling Center.

\ DEBBIE LINEWEAVER has been promoted to training specialist in the New River Community College office of continuing education. She previously was an assistant professor of psychology.

\ PAUL BRYANT, dean of the Radford University Graduate College, had a short story published in the winter 1990 issue of North Dakota Quarterly.

\ MICHAEL CRONIN, Radford University professor of speech and director of the Oral Communication Program, recently had a paper selected for presentation at the Interantional Communication Association Convention in Dublin, Ireland.

\ DAVID TUKEY, academic adviser, and\ MIKE DUNN, associate dean of students, presented a paper for Radford University at the Freshman Experience National Conference in South Carolina recently.

\ DONNA DUNN, Radford University certification and academic adviser for the College of Education and Human Development, also presented a paper at the conference.

Four Radford University secretaries recently received Certified Professional Secretary ratings:\ LISA FLANAGAN, CAROLYN SUTPHIN, PATSY TURMAN and\ CAROLYN KIRK.

\ CHARMEN LOH and\ SHALINI PERUMPRAL, Radford University professors of accounting and finance, had a paper accepted for publication in the June issue of American Business Review.\ ARTHUR KEOWN co-authored the paper.

Three Radford University profesors of communication sciences and disorders presented papers at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association annual meeting in St. Louis;\ CLAIRE WALDRON, PAMELA GARN-NUNN and\ ROBERT OYLER.

\ PHYLLIS TURK, Radford University assistant professor of nursing, has written a chapter on abortion for Gynecology Well-Woman Care.

\ ANTON NUELLER, the Fulbright scholar-in-residence in economics, presented a paper at the Midsouth Academy of Economics and Finance meeting in Jackson, Miss.

\ ERIC DU PLESSIS, the foreign languages professor, recently published an article in the proceedings of the 38th Annual Mountain Interstate Foreign Language Conference.

\ KENDALL KESSLER, the instructor of art, will exhibit a pastel at the Pastel Society of the West Coast's Fourth National Exhibition in California.

\ CLIFFORD BOYD JR., the associate professor of sociology and anthropology, has received a $2,300 grant from Sorg and Associates to conduct an archaeological survey of the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Salem.

\ JOEL HAGEN, assistant professor of biology, recently gave a presentation at the National Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington.

\ HALIDE SALAM, associate professor of art, received awards for two collage paintings.

\ DAVID DOBKINS has been named director of the corporate communication master's program, the only one of its kind in Virginia.
