IF OBJECTORS CORRECT, A HOLLOW VICTORY

I ALWAYS have the same problem every time I write a letter to the editor. Am I doing more harm than good? For example, are the supporters really surprised that Explore is in trouble or is this on schedule? Have we had any effect or are we setting ourselves up as handy scapegoats when it falls through and they build the condos they intended to put there in the first place?

Since 1985 I have contended that it is a "land grab," but until now there did not seem to be any power to stop it. And considering all the tax money that has helped a small group to keep exclusive control of this valuable land, it will be a hollow victory if our band of longtime objectors is right about this illusive "project."\ SUE COLLINS\ ROANOKE
