BENEFIT RUN STARTS MONDAY

Virginia Tech's Theta Chi fraternity will sponsor a Run Across Virginia starting Monday to benefit the Special Olympics. The goal is $4,000.

The fundraiser will begin in Blacksburg at 7 a.m. at War Memorial Chapel. More than 200 runners from Tech student organizations, faculty, community and Special Olympics will participate in the first mile of the run. Theta Chi members will then jog more than 90 miles to Lynchburg, where the University of Virginia will continue the run. The run will end at Virgina Beach.

Seven other chapters throughout the state will also participate and hope raise $20,000 collectively.
