INCINERATOR OFFERED FOR MEDICAL WASTE

A company is interested in setting up a medical waste incinerator that could take in waste from outside Virginia, the company's attorney said.

John Foote, who represents a company whose name he declined to reveal, has contacted area residents as well as city officials, the Prince William Health Department and Prince William Hospital about the proposed incinerator. The site is the same area where the city hopes to set up a waste-to-energy incinerator.

Foote would not rule out the possibility of shipping medical waste from out of state into Manassas. He said the company already does business in Prince William County.
