TIME COMES TO PUT ILL FOLK IN GOD'S HANDS

THANKS for your excellent and thought-provoking series of articles on "Medical technology and moral dilemmas" by Charles Hite. The series made me realize the difficult and painful decisions that patients, families, doctors, nurses and hospital personnel have to make.

There comes a time when the compassionate thing is to cease taking extraordinary means to keep people "alive" and to leave them in the hands of God. If some people were not so quick to sue for malpractice, I believe that doctors would be a lot more compassionate. We can't expect them to be God.
