Girish R. Desai, 46, was discovered early this morning by his wife after he did not come home last night, police said.
Authorities would not comment on the cause of death, except to say there were no apparent gunshot wounds or knife wounds. An autopsy will be conducted today, police said.
Police said today they have a suspect in custody, but declined to comment further.
Desai's wife became worried last night after Desai did not return home from the apartment complex he managed at 2502 Liberty Road, where he had been installing dead bolt locks Wednesday night, police said.
Early this morning, Desai's wife went to the complex and saw her husband's car parked in the lot. She then forced her way into a vacant apartment and found her husband lying face down in the kitchen, police said.
Authorities said there were signs of a struggle in the apartment.
In addition to managing the Twin Oaks apartments, Desai was also an agent with Winn & Co. Realtors in Roanoke.
