JABBERWOCK BENEFITS DELTA'S SCHOLARSHIPS

The Jabberwock, sponsored by the Roanoke alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., will be held Friday at 8 p.m. in the Roanoke Civic Center Auditorium.

Proceeds from the event, in which 14 high school students will compete, will benefit the chapter's scholarship fund. Tickets cost $5 for students and $8 for adults.

The contestants are:

Natasha Bruce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Bruce, a sophomore at Northside High School.

Lenai Clegg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Clegg, a junior at Northside.

Timika English, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank English, a sophomore at William Byrd High School.

Laneshia Fitzgerald, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Carter, a junior at William Fleming High School.

Kara Grogan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tyrone Grogan Sr., a sophomore at Fleming.

Nicol Hale, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hale, a senior at Patrick Henry High School.

Lauren Hutton, daughter of Robert L. Hutton and Marva Wright Hutton, a junior at Northside.

Rhonda Jones, daughter of Shelia Keeling, a sophomore at Fleming.

Nichole Lawrence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William M. Lawrence, a junior at Patrick Henry.

Latasha Monroe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Monroe, a junior at Fleming.

Dollie Polk, daughter of Lular Polk and James Polk, a sophomore at Fleming.

Cheryl Ramsey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ramsey, a sophomore at Fleming.
