SHELTER AGENCY POSTPONES FUND RAISER

The board of directors of the Montgomery County Community Shelter, which met Tuesday night, announced that the shelter fund-raising luncheon with Del. Joan Munford, D-Montgomery, has been rescheduled for Thursday, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Blacksburg Holiday Inn.

The board has kicked off its 1990 fund-raising campaign and set a goal of $100,000 during March. Those interested in making contributions can get more information by calling 382-6186 in Christiansburg.

The board announced that during December, 1989, the shelter housed four families, 25 individuals, and 11 children.

The board also said it needs donations of time and clothing for its thrift shop at 43 E. Main St. in Christiansburg. Those interested in helping should call Betty Jo Nunley at 382-7169 in Christiansburg.

In other business, the board elected new board members Jeanne Howard, Mike McCurdy, Jana Moore and Glenda Canfield.
