STANLEY TO WRESTLE IN NATIONALS

Jeff Stanley, the 189-pound Group AA wrestling champion from Christiansburg High, has been invited to compete in the National High School Championship on April 6-8 at the University of Pittsburgh.

The USA Wrestling-sponsored meet is by invitation only. Prerequisites include being a senior and being a state champion, said Christiansburg coach Dean Underwood.

Donations are being solicited to defray the costs of Stanley's trip. Those who wish to contribute may send to Christiansburg High School Athletic Department (earmarked for Jeff Stanley), Independence Boulevard, Christiansburg, 24073.

Stanley is a two-time state champion. He is the only Christiansburg wrestler to ever win a state title.
