Mr. Roy Otis Blevins, age 73, died Thursday, March 15, 1990 in the Cedar Lawn Convalescent Home in Abingdon. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, recipient of the Purple Heart and a member of Grosses Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Marie Blevins Blevins; two daughters, Mrs. Carl Wayne (Carol) Blevins, Mrs. Ivan (Patricia) Blevins, both of Abindgon; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Dutton, Stewartstown, Pa.; Mrs. Ethel Lipp, Longwood, Fla.; also five grandchildren and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Grosses Creek Baptist Church near Chilhowie with the Rev. Lloyd Sheets and the Rev. Reeves Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Marion V.F.W. Post 4667. The family will receivefriends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the Williams Funeral Home, Chilhowie. The body will be taken to the church one hour before services.
