EX-FIREFIGHTER TO GET PSYCHIATRIC TESTING

A Wythe County circuit judge ordered a psychiatric evaluation last week for a former Ivanhoe firefighter charged with setting five fires.

David Todd Akers, charged with arson in fires last May that destroyed several vacant houses, barns and storage buildings around Ivanhoe, was referred by Judge Willis Woods to Mount Rogers Mental Health Services. Akers is no longer with the department.
