MATTHEWS, SALLY A.\ PENHOOK - Sally Ann Matthews, age 33, of Rt. 1, died Wednesday, March 28, 1990, in the local hospital. Surviving are her husband, Ronald Matthews; her daughter, Samantha Renee Hodges; her son, Christopher Allen Matthews, all of the home; mother, Mrs. Annie Ferguson, Rocky Mount; foster parents, Hooker and Ruth Richards, Glade Hill; five brothers, Tommy Lovelace, Martinsville; Beverly Brooks, Callaway; Allen Richards, Glade Hill; Wallace Richards, Roanoke; Doug Turner, Wirtz; three sisters, Teresa Shoemake, Ovett, Miss.; Shirley Brown, Glade Hill; Barbara Holcomb, Rocky Mount; special family, the Shelton Family, Guy and Dorothy Hodges. Funeral services will be conducted at the Penhook United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Edmond McClean and the Rev. J.D. Hunt, III, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home.
