COLES HAS AGENT FOR NBA DRAFT

Virginia Tech's Bimbo Coles, projected as a probable first-round pick in the June NBA draft, has agreed to be represented by Bob Woolf Associates, a Boston-based firm.

"I feel really comfortable with them," said Coles, who signed with Woolf on Wednesday night. "They're just like family."

Woolf's clients include Super Bowl most valuable player Joe Montana and NBA standouts Larry Bird, Glen Rice and Sean Elliott.

Coles has dealt with former NFL wide receiver Randy Vataha, who is an agent with Woolf's firm.

Coles, who leaves today for the Final Four in Denver to participate in a 3-point shooting contest, said he is relieved to have picked an agent. He said he had been getting phone calls non-stop from various agents hoping to represent him. While he was away on spring break, his mother told him she received seven or eight calls an hour.

"I feel like I'm about 10 pounds lighter," Coles said.
