YOUNG BASKETBALL STARS FLOCKING TO ROANOKE

In the next several days, Roanoke will entertain some of the area's finest young basketball players as the AAU Regional Championships are held at several locations around the city.

The boys' 14-and-under division is scheduled to begin play tonight with a pair of opening round games at Patrick Henry High School. The first game begins at 6 p.m.

Three more opening-round games will be played at PH on Friday, with the first starting at 5 p.m. Another will be at Breckinridge Middle School at 8:30 p.m.

Games in the boys' 12-and-under division are scheduled to be played at William Fleming High, Ruffner Junior High and Breckinridge Junior High. Three games are scheduled for Fleming tonight, with the first starting at 5 p.m., and the first of two games at Ruffner tips off at 6 p.m.

The girls' 13-and-under tournament started Wednesday.

There will be two games tonight at William Byrd High and William Byrd Middle School. Play at both locations starts at 6 p.m. - Staff report
