VINTON ACCEPTS ENTRIES FOR FESTIVAL BIKE

Entries are being accepted for the third annual Vinton Dogwood Bicycle Criterium to be held April 28. The course is a closed loop in downtown Vinton with one lap equal to six-tenths of a mile.

Trophies will be awarded in each of four age groups: 13 to 17 years (10 laps or six miles), 18 to 35 years (15 laps or nine miles), 36 years and over (15 laps or nine miles) and an open class (15 laps or nine miles). Both men and women are eligible to compete in each category.

Race-day registration begins at 6:30 a.m. in front of the Vinton Municipal Building. The race begins at 8. The entry fee is $8 in advance or $10 the day of the race. Each entrant will receive a T-shirt. For more information, call Cardinal Bicycle at 344-BIKE.
