OBIT THOMASSON, G.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - George Carroll Thomasson, Sr., age 73, of Myrtle Beach, died Thursday, March 29, 1990, at Grand Strand General Hospital. Mr. Thomasson was born in Roanoke, Va., a son of the late G.D. and Frances Richardson Thomasson. He was a retired sales representative for Bassett Furniture Industries. After his retirement, he moved to Myrtle Beach in 1982. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Martinsville, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a member of the Knights of the Pythians and was an Army Veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Jessica Reavis Thomasson, Myrtle Beach; two sons, Donald Scott Thomasson, Tierra Verde, Fla.; George Carroll Thomasson, Jr., Washington, D.C.; one sister, Mrs. George Dillard, Roanoke; also by eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Martinsville, Va. with interment in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at McKee Funeral Home in Martinsville. McMillan-Small Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
