MAN HOSPITALIZED AFTER GALAX STABBING

A 23-year-old Galax man was stabbed in the neck with a butcher knife during a dispute at his home Friday evening.

J.D. Cochran of the 100 block of Frazier Road was sent to a hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C., following the 7 p.m. stabbing, a spokesman for the Grayson County Sheriff's Department said.

Police have a suspect in the case, but they had not filed charges by late Friday.

The spokesman said the investigation was continuing and authorities had not determined a motive.
