WILDER'S FIRST WORK SHOULD BE AT HOME

WHOA THERE! Hold your horses! Some seemingly trigger-happy person has prematurely fired the gun that has Gov. Doug Wilder out of the starting gate, off and running for national office in 1992.

Our parents taught us to clean up our yard before assessing the neighbors'. Charity begins at home, then spreads abroad.

There's a lot of preaching and work to be done here in Virginia on many of the same social ills and evils that beset other states. If the work is effective in the next three years, and yields positive, proven results for the benefit of all Virginians, other states will get the message loud and clear.
