MABES, RACHEL W.\ Mrs. Rachel W. Mabes, age 84, of the Lutheran Home and formerly of Apperson Dr., Salem, died April 2, 1990 in a local hospital. She was the widow of Harry B. Mabes. Surviving are two sons, Harry William Mabes; Ralph Dean Mabes, both of Salem; daughter, Marie Mabes Dent, Roanoke; two sisters, Martha Wills Cooper; Lorena Wills Sheppard, both of Salem; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Stuart Carlton officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Burial Park. Memorials may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church, Memorial Building Fund. The family will receive friends from 7:00 top 9:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Oakey's South Chapel.
