TEEN BLAMES DEATHS ON DAD'S AFFAIR

One of two 16-year-old boys charged in the murders of three members of a suburban Richmond family, Steven Rea, has admitted he was involved in the deaths and blamed the woman victim for breaking up his parents' marriage, Henry A. Conner Jr., the teen-ager's lawyer, said Tuesday.

"Steven's father admits that at one time he and Mrs. Walker were romantically involved but had no idea his son was aware of this," Conner said.

Police said the Walkers - Larry, 42; his wife, Emily, 40; and their older son, Eddie, 17 - were shot fatally March 25 at their Henrico County home. All three were shot in the head.

Rea's father lives several blocks from the Walker home. Rea's mother lives in Florida.

Meantime, an attorney for Christopher M. Palmer, 16, another suspect in the case, said his client was asleep at home when the three victims were slain.

Palmer, Rea and a third suspect, Jackie Lynn Kulp, 14, are charged with three counts of capital murder each in the slayings.
