OBIT PATTERSON, C.

Charles E. Patterson, age 85, of Roanoke County, died Wednesday, April 4, 1990, in a local hospital. He was a life time member of the Belmont Christian Church and was a retired machinist with the N&W Railway, East End Shops. Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Jones Patterson. Surviving are one brother, Rev. James L. Patterson, Johnson City, Tenn.; a stepson, Charles S. Martin, Jr., Roanoke; stepgranddaughter, Debra M. Yopp, Roanoke; two great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Jesse Yopp; also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. John E. Wallace officiating. Interment will be in the Fair View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
