WATER PROBLEM CLOSES COUNTY SCHOOL FOR DAY

Pupils at Green Valley Elementary School in Roanoke County were sent home this morning after a pump failed and left the school without water.

County schools spokesman Marty Robison said the well pump was going to be repaired or replaced today and that pupils should be able to return to school Friday.

He said school officials tried to set up temporary water service, but couldn't work it out. The school, at 3838 Overdale Road SW, has about 415 pupils.
