No, they don't plan to arrest anyone. They'll be at the mall for Law Enforcement Day, which has been sponsored by the Virginia State Crime Clinic.
In an effort to let New River Valley residents know a little more about what services their police officers provide, dozens of officers will be at the mall 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
Patrol cars and other equipment will be on display, and officers will be showing photographs and videos on police work and will be giving fingerprinting demonstrations.
Officers representing the following agencies will be on hand: Montgomery County Sheriff's Department, Blacksburg, Christiansburg and Radford police departments, Virginia State Police, campus police at Virginia Tech and Radford University and the magistrate's office for the 27th Judicial District.
