NEWBERRY, ZELLA E.\ Mrs. Zella Eileen Burton Newberry, age 93, of 915 Viewmont St., Roanoke, Va., died early Friday morning in the Montgomery Regional Hospital, Blacksburg, Va., following a lengthy illness. She was born April 29, 1896, in Mechanicsburg, Va., and was the daughter of the late John William Burton and Madella Repass Burton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Newberry and Frank R. Newberry. She was a member of the Byrnes Chapel United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Breedlove, Pearisburg, Va.; one son, Mr. William (Bill) Newberry, Roanoke; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mollie Morehead, Bastian, Va.; Mrs. Clara Burton, Mechanicsburg; special friends, Mrs. Helen Curtis, Mrs. Dorothy Hale, and S. G. Hoffman, all of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. Ann Blair officiating. Interment will follow in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery, Mechanicsburg. Visiting will be after 1:00 p.m. Saturday. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bland County Rescue Squad, Bastian, Va. Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
