BROOKS, JOHN T.\ UNION HALL - John Thomas Brooks, age 74, of Rt. 1, died Sunday, April 8, 1990, at his home. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Brooks; four daughters, Frances Dudley, Rocky Mount; Mrs. Richard T. (Nora) Stokes, Martinsville; Mrs. Ralph (Bernice) Midkiff, Glade Hill; Mrs. Michael (Patricia) Walker, Union Hall; one son, Joseph T. Brooks, Union Hall; three stepdaughters, Linda Hite, Brenda Ingram, Patricia Tate, all of Ridgeway; six sisters, Effie Holland, Glade Hill; Cecil Brown, Collinsville; Ruth Minter, Martinsville; Doris Ferguson, Penhook; Dorothy Sink, Glade Hill; Mattie Cundiff, Rocky Mount; two brothers, James Brooks, Glade Hill; Glen Brooks, Pensa Cola, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in Lynch Chapel by Elder O. K. Tench and Elder W. Lane Carter. Interment will follow in the family cemetery, with graveside rites by W.O.W. Camp #89. Friends may call at Lynch Funeral Home after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday where the family will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to the Glade Hill Rescue Squad or Fire Department.
