SHARP, SALLIE S.\ AUSTINVILLE - Sallie Slate Sharp, age 79, of the Poplar Camp Community, died Saturday in the Southern Chester County Medical Center in Jennersville, Penn. She was born in Wythe County, a daughter of the late James R. and Nan Thompson Slate. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ranzie E. Sharp. She is survived by one daughter, Beatrice Sharp, Bluefield, Va.; one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Brenda Sharp, Chadds Ford, Penn.; two brothers, Charles H. Slate, Woodlawn; Sanford Slate, Ridley Park, Penn.; four grandchildren, Mrs. Edmund (Ronda) Meyer, Rochelle Sharp, Roger Sharp, Jr., and Ryan Sharp, all of Chadds Ford, Penn.; one great-grandchild, Erik Meyer. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethany United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Billingsley officiating. Interment will be in the Bethany Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour before service time. The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday or at the residence anytime. The family suggests that those who prefer may make memorials to the American Cancer Society. Barnett Funeral in Wytheville is in charge of arrangements.
