CRUCIFIXION DRAMA TO PREMIERE AT CHURCH

"The Darkest Hour," a play by a Virginia Intermont College English professor centering on the crucifixion of Christ, will have its premiere Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the State Street United Methodist Church.

It was written by Marsha Mathews, who also has written in several national and regional publications and completed a collection of poems.

The characters include a stranger, played by Rick Watson, experiencing doubts following the Crucifixion, and the daughter of an innkeeper, played by Joan Engle, who was present at Jesus' birth.
