DUBLIN WOMAN DIES IN I-81 CAR ACCIDENT

A Dublin woman died Monday afternoon when her car struck a guardrail, throwing her partway out and dragging her about 126 feet.

Karan Darlene Harrison, 41, was driving south on Interstate 81 near the off ramp to Interstate 77 in Wythe County just before 2 p.m.

Her car ran off the left shoulder and struck the guardrail. The car spun and threw her out, then skidded backward for 126 feet before stopping in the roadway, according to state police.

Harrison, of Mitchell Drive, died at the scene.
