The workshop will begin at 9 a.m. in Mrs. Howard's second grade class. The Blacksburg Regional Art Association is sponsoring the program.
Jones will offer music and sing-alongs using songs she and others have composed. She will explain each song's history, harmony, or syncopation and the origin of each instrument she uses in the performance.
Jones has recorded several albums, most notably "Birthday Cake by Tina Liza Jones and the Flying Cowboys" and "Three Forks of Cheat," with the folk group Trapezoid. She also performed with several other folk groups along the East Coast between 1977 and 1982 and has taught residencies in Ohio, West Virginia and Virginia.
Students will prepare a concert program to demonstrate the skills they have learned from the workshop.
