THOMAS, JAMES L.\ HOPEWELL - James Lewis Thomas, age 79, of 303 Mansion Dr., Hopewell, died Tuesday, April 10, 1990, in Retreat Hospital, Richmond. He was the son of the late James Mantell and Mabel Clark Thomas and the widower of Helen Kitchin Thomas. Surviving are two daughters, Sarah T. Carver, Garner, N.C.; Mary T. (Lou) Thomas, Hopewell; one brother, Richard S. Thomas, Roanoke; six grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rev. David M. Bercaw, Rector, officiating. Interment will be in Merchant Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hopewell Emergency Crew or the St. John's Episcopal Church, Hopewell. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home.
