NEW ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY APPOINTED

Kathleen M. Kronau, an attorney in Norfolk Southern Corp.'s law department, has been named an assistant city attorney for Roanoke.

Kronau succeeds Katherine Jones, who resigned recently because she has moved to Norfolk.

City Attorney Wilburn Dibling said Tuesday that Kronau will concentrate on commercial and legal issues dealing with economic development, consumer affairs, delinquent tax collections and related matters.

She is a graduate of the Washington and Lee University Law School. She also has a master's degree in analytical chemistry from the University of North Carolina and a bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware.

Kronau, who worked for NS for nine years, has the background and experience that will be valuable in the city attorney's office, Dibling said.
