Merton Allen Hansen (Mert), age 62, of Christiansburg, passed away April 11, 1990, at his home. He was a veteran of World War II of the United States Air Force and a native of Greenville, Mich. He was a retired employee of Federal-Mogel Corporation with 32 years of service after which he became President and Founder of Mert's Tool and Design Inc. Surviving are his wife, Kathe (Katie) P. Hansen, Christiansburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Toni and Thomas Piccariello, Christiansburg; one brother, Merle Hansen, Greenville, Mich. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Seaver-Sanders Funeral Home in Radford with Reverends Alan and Kathryn Rowbotham and Rev. Raymond Taylor officiating. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Merton Hansen Memorial Cancer Fund, c/o First National Bank of Christiansburg, P.O. Box 600, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the Seaver-Sanders Funeral Home in Radford.
